Dr Cristina Murphy, BSc, MSc, PhD
Consultant Audiologist
Specialist in APD

Dr Murphy is a Consultant Audiologist who has worked as an APD specialist and academic researcher for over 20 years. She qualified as an audiologist and speech and language therapist in Brazil in 2000 (BSc). Then, she obtained her Master's degree in Science in 2004 (MSc) and her Doctorate in 2009 (PhD). Her PhD thesis was related to developing a computer-based auditory training program and received the most prestigious award for the best thesis in Brazil (Premio CAPES).

In 2015, Dr Murphy's expertise was recognised with an International Fellowship Program to join the UK's prestigious Ear Institute / UCL. Since then, she has established a robust publication record, collaborating with the world's foremost APD scientists. Her contributions have been acknowledged through numerous guest/keynote speaking engagements at international conferences/courses. Her research, at the intersection of auditory processing and language, is a result of her audiology and speech and language therapy backgrounds.

Dr Murphy's current roles reflect her ongoing commitment to the field. In addition to her work at THE APD CLINIC, she serves as a Steering Committee Member of the APD Special Interest Group of the British Society of Audiology (BSA) and as a Visiting Lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal) and Aston University (UK). Her professional credentials include registration as a Clinical Audiologist with the RCCP (Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists) and membership in the BAA (British Academy of Audiology).

Dr Murphy likes to spend her free time with her family. She has two children, one diagnosed with ASD, a lovely husband and an adorable dog.
